# The Magic Company

*"When asked about the origins of the palace, the Aldrich family are extremely reticent, and will promptly order you to be escorted from the premises and banned from re-entry if you press them too hard. Despite the huge amount of unknown information regarding the castle, the Magic Company is too useful a resource to be deprived of, and so the townspeople and visitors alike have come to leave its mysteries aside, no longer questioning the motives of the family. Indeed, besides being a rather unpleasant group of people to talk to, the Aldrich family do not seem to be evil, they’re just suspiciously quiet. There’s even a running joke among the merchants that the family can rewrite the memories of those who live nearby, and so have deliberately hidden their history. But no one remembers where that rumor came from…."*

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.portalfantasy.io/portal-fantasy-docs/locations/city-of-valeria/the-magic-company.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
